Climespace, Europe’s number one district cooling network

  • 9 production sites and 3 cold storage sites, 20,600 tCO2eq. avoided annually
  • 412 GWh of energy sold in 2012, equivalent to 5 million m2 (54 million sq.ft) of space air-conditioned in Paris via the cooling network.

Paris district heating network, France’s leading heating network

13 interconnected municipalities, including Paris, and 8 power generation sites heating 465,000 equivalent housing units by a grid that receives 42% of its energy from recycled household waste.

Remarkable power distribution across Paris

Paris’s continuous power supply is ranked the best of all European capitals.

The French capital’s power grid incorporates new telecommunications technologies and is in the process of upgrading to smart grids. It will deploy the latest generation smart metering from 2016 onwards.

Gas grid

The 9,200 km gas grid serves all municipalities in the Paris metropolitan area and is singled out in Paris Region’s Air, Climate and Energy Action Plan (SRCAE) as a renewable energy development driver, particularly through biogas injection.
