Goals of the New Greater Paris project

  • To improve Paris’s quality of life, regional solidarity and attractiveness;
  • To improve suburban mobility with the target of 90% of the population living within 2km of a public transport station within 10 years;
  • To create 15,000 jobs each year.

 A programme with a budget of €32 billion over 15 years

  • €25 billion will be allocated to the new “Grand Paris Express” line;
  • €7 billion will be invested by 2017 to develop and upgrade existing RER, Métro and bus networks to a high level;
  • 205km of new automatic Métro lines and 72 stations.

 A major urban project

  • 100 new mixed, sustainable and innovative neighbourhoods connected to transport;
  • The pace of housing construction to double to 70,000 housing units per year.
